I certainly did.

Missed it completely, went right over my head...

Unidentified Flying Idea.

A UFI, I guess.

(I only post comments for the wonderful bits of language I get from the Word Verification software).

sammug, it offered me, this time.

Now why would a piece of software, asking me to prove my wetware status, ask me to repeat gibberish to prove it?

Like I said, I don't understand...

Wait! I've gotten pretty good at this I think...

Might this advocate more diligent practice of yoga, and closer attention to how the "body" affects the "mind"

hmm?

The joy of Quietist Week comes from not having to DO anything about anything (I feel aligned with The Dealy Lama on this).

I guess if and when I feel clear about a definitive action which would effectively result in a fairly certain outcome, then I might attempt it. Maybe.

My Latin remains atrocious so I only knew the title of the post to mean something like Work Conquers All, which rings no bells with me except 'Arbeit macht frei' which I found fairly chilling as a slogan for slave labourers.

But I get all my facts from Uncyclopedia, so they must be true!

And when I miss a cultural reference, or joke, I just keep going - it comes from reading Finnegans Wake and knowing you will NEVER untangle all the jokes, reference, multilingual puns, topical jokes from the 30s, etc.

See I don't buy the apparent transatlantic hostility, I mean who gives a shit, right?

Shutting Up & Bending Over, might equally refer to stilling the mind & stretching the body in any of the many appropriate postures.

Yoga being the work that conquers all, and 3 + 22 turns up in google:

Colossians 3:22

Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything, not only while being watched in order to please them, but with a sincere heart, fearing the Lord.

The earthly master of the individual? The body.

Likewise now, Fergus, go absorb your yang in your own yin, as we Americans say!

Aw, this seems to have got complicated! Biblical references? I didn't think to look there - I tried to find something in the news where the UK got pushy (pretty hilarious when we have more debt than anyone in Europe, and the US borrowed a load of cash from China and all that).

I eventually found some British glee that our standard of living had overtaken the US one (by some weird statistical calculation) for the first time since the 19th Century. But that report came in January 08, before the Credit Crunch (or Revolution of Lowered Expectations) really kicked in!

icicin (word verification or paranoid code) I see! I see!

I love your yoga interpretation of the signal, Bobby.

And someone throwing shoes at George Bush seemed pretty funny, too.
