Scribbledehobble - the ur-workbook

Yeh, yeh - work in progress...Scribbledehobble and/or the Buffalo Notebooks. They seem to have plans to publish transcriptions of all the Buffalo Notebooks, multi-coloured pens, and all.

Bobby - did you find the shorter online Wake? You can also find a webified version here although it says no US access (?) and some FW pub in Key West links to this FW online.

And this index thingy seems quite amusing...and for parts of words, try the concordance.

I went and shrank that wonderful full moon picture (right after the solstice) but it didn't bring the links back up...

Great Link!

oh man I don't think I can avoid FW for very long, after Ulysses everything else I read seems too easy, I read Herbert's Quantum Reality this week, & as much as I loved it, speaking comparatively, it hardly demanded anything of me!

though maybe science & sanity w/ the group will put me back in overdrive

Metachor: I changed the Settings from 7 Days posts on front page, to 7 posts, and the Links popped back up...

Oh, and I right justified the sidebar...

Metachor - I am working on a draft of some stuff on the initiation levels - a map that Bobby and I worked on last year in a thread called the Tao of Physics if I remember right. At the time you showed us a map you had made, integrating systems, which I found yesterday on your blog. I really think we should dig out and rework some of the stuff from the Old Forum...

Pickle sticks! them FW links done opened the rabbit hole on me! found audio of Joyce reading from the wake, litergical bardic incantation poking my poetic imagination with lightening laced blunts!?!

frankly I dunno how anyone gets about without a Magic-British-Librarian showing em the ropes!

(I know you don't like labels, but I just love New Archtypical Masks!)

Bobby -do you know about the 'sigla' that Joyce used as shorthand while composing FW?

I found a bit about them here
http://www.robotwisdom.com/jaj/fwake/

and I know Bob mentions them some in (duh?) Coincidance (?)

One day I have to rebuild the complete library I had back in 1994 that got 'confiscated' by irate woman (long story).

I know the library has a copy of a book about them, so I will get it together (the Web has not prove too helpful yet).

Basically 'sigils' as a shorthand of his own.

And this site had some TrueType Doodles of the Sigla for Mac or Windows (but not much explanation).

And here I found another hint:
http://www.themodernword.com/joyce/joyce_paper_netwake1.html

The 'sigla' in the Wake are the marks Joyce used in his notebooks as abbreviations for the most important character types or thematic nodes upon which the book is constructed. All the major sigla can be seen in footnote four on page 299. Discussing them all would take up too much space; suffice it to say that the three prongs of the letter 'E' correspond to the three prongs of HCE, and can thereby serve to represent him in various states of uprightness, downrightness, or unconsciousness. The 'Æ' of ALP is her pubic delta, from which the whole world is born. And McHugh notes that the minor sigla 'P', meant to stand for the 'Bishop/High Priest' archetype, was meant to be interpreted as an upright figure carrying a holy book in both hands.
