Im very happy to see that boingboing.net are entertaining a Robert Anton Wilson week, with blog posts from the likes of Paul Krassner, Mark Frauenfelder, Gareth Brandwyn, Douglas Rushkoff, Antero Ali, R.U Sirius, David Jay Brown, Erik Davis, Ivan Stang and MLA's own Propaganda Anonymous, all full of new insights and high praise from 2012.

In spite of the eclectic interests of this blog, and its authors, we still revolve around some fundamental models, themes and ideas. The 8-Circuit Model that Tim Leary and Robert Anton Wilson evolved - also features in a lot of Antero Alli's work, extended by him in Angel Tech (the book, and the MLA courses).

Worth a few minutes of anyone's time

One of the best informed contributors to MLA interviewed Antero Alli recently, focused on the 8 Circuit Model.

This book was written for Karma Mechanics and those brave souls surfing the crest of humanities futures. That means you, me, your next door neighbour, architects, intellectuals, artists, scientists, hippies, heroes, bogeymen and even literary critics. Perhaps especially for literary critics.

One point I have to make is that Antero has crafted this book like a chef, taking all the readily available ingredients (such as well known models of the psyche) and preparing them with experience, skill and a passion for fine dining. Rather than a collection of old techniques regurgitated for a quick profit, it is an exquisite 8 course meal served at the five star hotel of your mind.

Interplay of Fallen Angels

We finally find ourselves in Day One of Antero Alli's new online course for the MLA, ANGEL TECH: The 8-Circuit Brain in Theory and Practice
and he has posted the first assignments and projects in the relevant forum. Although he recommends certain published books as source material, he confirmed that virtually everything you need will appear as links to Web material, or privately posted material for students.

This week's stuff already looks beautifully conceived and presented to me, so it feels as though the course has a strong hand at the wheel - and now the students have started to gather and introduce themselves - a good-looking mixture of new faces and MLA regulars (the Academy started on 23rd July 2004).

This blog represents students (paying customers) so don't mistake a recommendation for an advertisement. If you want something stimulating to get involved in, which might even increase your intelligence (however you define that), why not check this syllabus out?

So the Gregorian Calendar rolled over into a new digit, and on we go.

Finally (for now) Antero Alli will run an 8 week course from March 13 - May 7, 2006 - on the subject of ANGEL TECH: The 8-Circuit Brain in Theory and Practice. Especially exciting for those of us who missed RAW's previous 8 Dimensions of "Mind" course.

If you can't afford that course, haven't the time, or have signed up (like me) but would like a foretaste - I noticed that Antero Alli himself has started a tribe on the same theme over at Tribe. Yeh, right - freeeeee, honest!
